Stillwood is located in Hartland, Vermont, just 5 miles from Woodstock. We are close to ski areas (20 minutes to Saskadena Six, 30 minutes from Killington Resort. The property sits on 18 private acres with woods, open pasture, and mountain views.

Stillwood is approximately 5 miles (9 minute drive) from The Green in Woodstock. You take a scenic drive along Densmore Hill Rd to Route 106, turn right, and head right into town. 

Just five miles from the Green Mountain Horse Association, Stillwood is a favorite home base for GMHA members and visiting event riders.

  • Saskadena Six: ~20 minutes
  • Killington Resort: ~30 minutes
  • Okemo Mountain Resort: ~35–40 minutes

Stillwood is a convenient home base for skiing, snowboarding, and year-round mountain activities.

  • The House accommodates up to 6 guests in bedrooms, and 2 additional guests using the comfy sofa-bed in the living room.
  • The Cottage accommodates up to 4 guests, with 2 upstairs in the queen bedroom, and 2 guests in the full bedroom downstairs

Yes. A 10% discount off the nightly rate is offered if only one bedroom is used in the Cottage. This discount is refunded at the end of your stay, pending no damages/issues. This discount cannot be combined with other discounts. Please email me if you have any questions about this.

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Stillwood.


Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people. We ask that dogs are supervised outdoors and do not roam freely unless confirmed to be social and non-aggressive.

The property is not fully fenced. Guests with dogs should plan accordingly and use leashes if needed.

Yes! There are miles and miles of trails that you can walk to right from the property, as well as some other great dog-friendly hikes nearby.

Yes, a two-night minimum stay applies for most bookings. Holiday and peak periods may require longer stays.

Yes. The driveway is plowed after snowfalls, but guests should have appropriate winter vehicles (AWD/4WD or snow tires recommended).

Yes. The main house is equipped with window AC units in the kitchen and all 3 bedrooms, and a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and sunroom. 


The cottage has an AC window unit in the upstairs bedroom and a ceiling fan in the lower bedroom (which tends to stay cooler). Both homes are also equipped with fans.

Yes. High-speed (FIOS) WiFi is available throughout both properties. Cell phone coverage can be spotty depending on your carrier, but wifi calling works great.

Yes. Guests have access to open pasture, wooded trails, and private outdoor seating areas. Both the cottage and house have their own firepit and hammock.

A deposit is required at booking, with the remaining balance due 14 days before arrival.

One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. 


Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. 


For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

Yes. You have the option to purchase travel insurance by Rental Guardian upon checking out. The standard plan is approximately 7% of the booking and their premium plan (covers everything) is approximately 10% but only provides up to 60% refund. Read more about the policy here.

Stillwood is a peaceful retreat and is not suitable for parties or large events unless you are booking both properties and and are pre-approved. Please email Lulu to discuss further.

Yes. Families are welcome but better suited for the house than the cottage. Neither dwelling has been "child-proofed." Please supervise children outdoors due to natural terrain and wildlife.
